The Iris Center

The Iris Center is a non-profit, community-sustained primary care clinic located in the heart of Old Town Fort Collins. Plucky Cat Electrolysis and The Iris Center share the same goal of providing high-quality, inclusive, and affirming care to our community. The Iris Center exists because healthcare should feel accessible, affirming, and safe. This work is sustained by the community it serves. Through Community Sustained Care, Iris Center providers and staff are able to spend the time patients truly need while keeping care predictable and reasonably priced.

Our partnership with The Iris Center allows us to refer hair removal patients to a gender-affirming primary care physician that can help them receive access to prescription-strength EMLA numbing cream for treatments, or answer any follow up questions regarding their health history and contraindications to electrolysis.

PROUD Business Network

We are a PROUD Network Partner. The PROUD Network is a collection of LGBTQ+ and ally-owned businesses. All partner locations feature gender(less) and inclusive restrooms, actively support the LGBTQ+ community, and are open to kind and respectful feedback, praise, and suggestions about how they show up in allyship by supporting these businesses, you support and grow progress locally, nationally, and globally.

As a member of the network, we offer all PROUD members a 15% discount on our services, and participate in networking, events and cross-pollination with other LGBTQ+ businesses.

Elevated Access

Elevated Access was launched in 2022 in response to the extreme healthcare bans being enacted in state legislatures. They are a non-profit organization that enables people to access healthcare by providing flights on private planes at no cost. Our volunteer pilot network transports clients seeking abortion or gender-affirming care across the United States.

For patients seeking electrolysis as necessary gender-affirming care, we are able to coordinate with the pilot network at Elevated Access, and can offer our patients a place to stay overnight when they have to travel from far distances to access our care.

Earnestly Grappling with Gender (EGGS) Support Group

This is a peer emotional support group for trans, genderqueer, and gender-nonconforming folks in the Northern Colorado area. While the focus of the group is intended to be on gender identity, the ups and downs of transition and building resilience and community in a country that is growing increasingly hostile to trans folks, and an all topics are acceptable for discussion within the group.
